Research Associate

Biography

Dr. Asha Yadav is a Research Associate at Educational and Community Supports (ECS), a research unit at the University of Oregon. Her research focuses on data-based decision-making within the MTSS framework, parent-professional partnerships, professional development, and equity issues in special education for early childhood and elementary-aged children. Dr. Yadav is currently the research coordinator for the IES-funded Team-Initiated Problem-Solving research project. Prior to joining ECS, Dr. Yadav served as a project coordinator for two IES-funded projects on practice-based coaching at the University of Florida. She has also worked as a special educator, supporting children with social-emotional and behavioral disorders, and as a nonprofit leader, implementing programs to help families navigate the special education system, including IEP development. Through these roles in both developed and developing countries, Dr. Yadav has gained expertise in children's social-emotional and behavioral health, as well as project management. Dr. Yadav holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Neurological Disabilities from Delhi University in India. She also earned a Master's in Special Education through joint programs at Roehampton University in the UK, Fontys OSO in the Netherlands, and Charles University in the Czech Republic. Dr. Yadav has received prestigious fellowships, including the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship from the European Union Commission and the Lokey Doctoral Science Fellowship from the University of Oregon.
